Village of Egg Harbor Permit Renewal: Timing Squeeze
Home Hosts member, Karen Berndt, contacted the Village to request a paper application for her permit renewal. Madison Dietzen, the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer/Administrator at the Village of Egg Harbor (VEH) is processing the STR renewal applications, replied to her about the process:
“We are hopeful the online application will be up and running in early May. If there are any other delays regarding the online application platform, we will provide a paper application. Until then, we ask for STR owners to wait until the online application is ready to submit their application for the upcoming licensing year. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.”
The recently approved VEH ordinance specifies that the application period commences on March 1 and runs until 45 days before the current licenses expire on June 30, 2024. Therefore, all new permit applications must be submitted by May 15. In response to Madison Dietzen’s information, Karen inquired about the possibility of adjusting the mid-May application submission timelines to give applicants more time to complete the online or paper application, once it becomes available.
For example, if the NEW online application is available on May 3, STR owners have less than two weeks to complete their application and provide necessary paperwork to meet the May 15 deadline.
Therefore, please ensure you are prepared to submit your application promptly! Don’t risk missing the May 15 deadline. Be proactive and have everything ready to swiftly complete your application when it becomes available, whether it is via paper or online. The application process includes specific requirements outlined in the ordinance.
